The Executive Education in Sustainable Fashion

program is designed for fashion industry

professionals and executives who are looking to

deepen their understanding of sustainability and

create innovative strategies in order to drive positive change within their organizations. It helps promote awareness and understanding of best practices and possibilities in sustainability across a variety of disciplines, while also giving participants insider access to some of the world’s leading brands. There are two seasons of the program 2019.

The Spring 2019 season began with a unique series of online masterclass conversations with Chinese subtitles and Live Chat. Experts shared and discussed the foundational knowledge, tools and strategies to actively address challenges and create opportunities for corporate sustainability implementation both now and in the future. Some noted speakers include:

  • Julie Gilhart - Fashion Consultant

  • Toby Usnik - Author, The Caring Economy

  • Dr Timo Rissanen - Parsons School of Design - The New School

  • Matt Scanlan - Naadam

For the offline part of the Spring season, 15 senior fashion executives from China were invited to spend a week in NYC learning about successful sustainability efforts in fashion organizations and companies. They were exposed to insight given by leading organizations, experts and academics through a series of lectures, discussions, panels, and workshops.

Riding on the success of the Spring series, six more online Master Talks were streamed for free in the fall of 2019.  The enhanced online curriculum, developed by WeDesign, explores the challenges, risks, and successes of companies who have incorporated sustainability. It recognizes executives’ critical and unique roles in managing our global future by equipping them with the tools to create or strengthen a more responsible, respected, and viable business.

Some of the fashion industry’s leading global experts in sustainability joined our Fall 2019 Master Talks, which include:

  • Cyrill Gutsch - Founder, Parley For The Oceans

  • Eva Kruse - Founder & CEO,  Global Fashion Agenda

  • Jeanine Ballone - Managing Director, Fashion 4 Development (F4D)

  • Patrick Duffy - Founder, Global Fashion Exchange

  • Francis Wong - Vice President, Global Creative Director at WGSN by Ascential
