"One World in Beauty" China Fashion Gala 2020

China Institute and Yue-Sai Kan China Beauty Charity Fund (CBCF) co-presented the China Fashion Gala 2020 virtually on Thursday, July 23, 2020. 

 

We hope you enjoyed this celebration of Chinese fashion, music, dance and our salute to our outstanding honorees: the global prestige beauty brand Estée Lauder; fashion designer and opinion leader Phillip Lim; actress, director, artist, and activist Lucy Liu; and Chinese investor, entrepreneur and philanthropist Wendy Yu.

 

We are also grateful for the outpouring of support benefiting China Institute and their timely mission to educate people about China through business, education, arts, and culture.

 

Highlights of China Fashion Gala 2020

China Fashion Gala 2019 

The 2019 Gala on May 1st honored designer and artist Jason Wu, Editor in Chief of Vogue China Angelica Cheung, Actress Shu Qi, skincare brand Shanghai Pechoin Group, and Managing Director of Brands and Distribution at Esquel Group Dee Poon. The highlight of the evening was a full-length couture fashion show by Jason Wu, an internationally renowned Chinese-Canadian designer based in New York.

China CHIc Pop-up 

As a central part of Yue-Sai Kan's mission to increase visibility of Chinese brands, we assembled 20 Chinese brands and designer labels to participate in the China Chic Pop-up in Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall, April 26 to 30, 2019. For many of the brands, this was their first appearance in the U.S. The five-day event attracted nearly 1 million visitors who got a chance to experience the arts, fashion, food, and culture of China.

CBCF X WeDesign Executive Education in Sustainable Fashion Program to Launch New Season on March 16th

NEW YORK – March 12, 2020 – Yue-Sai Kan China Beauty Charity Fund (CBCF), in partnership with design

education organization WeDesign Group Inc., today announced the Spring 2020 schedule of their trailblazing Executive Education in Sustainable Fashion Master Talks, premiering Monday, March 16.

Conducted in English with Chinese subtitles, the free series of weekly online masterclasses is tailored to executives and professionals engaged in fashion, beauty and lifestyle products and services, designed to provide them with exclusive insights and design-thinking skills to create new sustainable solutions, build profitable companies, and set themselves up for successful futures.

The Spring 2020 series gives unprecedented access to six industry insiders and magnates from both China and the U.S. Hosted by WeDesign’s Simon Collins and Jasonpaul McCarthy, each episode highlights the subject’s strategy, success and vision for incorporating sustainability into their corporate DNA while maintaining industry dominance.
